Reflection for the Day: There Can Be No Room for Bitterness

In the midst of Job’s attacks from Satan, his “friends” chose not to encourage him. They accused him of hidden sin for which he must acknowledge and repent. It mattered not what Job answered or the life he had lived before them; they accepted no other explanation for why he suffered. When the time came for God to heal His servant, Job first had to pray for the three who had attacked him. There could be no bitterness—deliverance required forgiveness.

As you find yourself coming under false attacks and accusations from others, it is essential that you do not allow bitterness to rise up. Forgiveness may be challenging, but your deliverance requires it. With the same grace that God forgives you, you must forgive others.
