Reflection for the Day: As God Forgives Us We Are To Forgive Others

Healthy relationships matter to Jesus. He spent much time teaching on how to respond to one another. He noted the importance of forgiveness and compassion. As Peter listened, he asked Jesus a question: "If my brother offends me seven times, and I forgive him on each occasion, is that enough?" Jesus responded, "Not seven but seventy times seven." Forgiveness is a spirit, not an occasion.

As you encounter those who offend you and then ask forgiveness, be prepared to forgive. As the Lord is quick to forgive us, we must have that same spirit. Do not put a number on how often; forgiveness is a spirit.
